What year did you enter the seminary? 2006
What did you do prior to seminary entrance?
Prior to the seminary I attended Cardinal O’Hara High School and then attended Temple University where I received a B.S. in Education.
What influenced your decision to enter the seminary?
My parents, grandparents, and the good parish priests of my parish. Two priests in particular that were a great influence on my decision are: Father Joseph Maloney, who was my high school chaplain and Father Michael Gerlach who is a holy and humble priest and pastor of Holy Saviour.
Why do you want to be a priest?
I feel that god has called me to this vocation. I have a desire to bring Jesus Christ to people in both sacrament and in works of mercy.
What did your family and friends think about your decision to enter the seminary?
Initially, my family was a little apprehensive about my entrance to the seminary. However, since then my family and friends have been a source of great encouragement for me as I study for priesthood.
What do you do for fun?
I like to hang out with friends and family, catch a movie, and read.
Who is your favorite Saint?
St. John the beloved disciple. It was St. John who first got to hear the sacred heart of Christ beat for the world and it was John who stood by Mary at the cross.
What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?
A young man considering a call to the seminary should not be afraid of the voice of Christ speaking in his heart. Entrust your discernment to the protection of Mary as you grow in your devotion to the priestly heart of Christ.
