FATHER DAVID O'BRIEN

Father David O’Brien, vocation director for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, was ordained in May 2019 and has since dedicated himself to guiding young men in discerning the priesthood. Raised in a large Irish Catholic family and a graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School, Father O’Brien first felt called to the priesthood during his senior year. Encouraged and never pressured, he found peace and clarity at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, where pivotal experiences, including serving the poor and following the Spiritual Exercises, confirmed his vocation. He aims to be a strong example of the priesthood and invites young men to discern God’s plan through prayer, sacraments, and the resources of the Vocation Office.
