Covenant in Light of Deuteronomy

God has established a covenant with us, and we can learn a lot about this from God's covenant with the Israelites in the Book of Deuteronomy. Oftentimes we want to be in control of our lives, but our lives have been created by a good God who loves us. When we give our lives as a gift back to Him, amazing things happen. Reflect with Fr. Stephen DeLacy, Vocation Director for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, on this covenant and the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

"There is no better novena than this: O Jesus, I abandon myself to you. Jesus, you take over." ~The words of Jesus to Servant of God Fr. Dolindo Ruotolo

We invite you to prayerfully ponder these Reflection Questions:

  1. What is a time in your life you've been docile to the Holy Spirit? How did God work in your life during that time?
  2. Are there areas in your relationship with God that you are trying to control? How might God be asking you to trust Him there?
  3. What steps can you take to surrender those areas to God?
