Reflection on Joshua and the Priesthood

Throughout salvation history, God establishes leaders to represent Him and to carry out His word and will among His people. The leadership exemplified in the Book of Joshua is passed down throughout the ages, and in a special way through the sacramental priesthood. Find out how in today’s reflection video with Fr. Dennis Gill, the Director of the Office for Worship for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and the Rector and Pastor of the Cathedral Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul.

We invite you to prayerfully ponder these Reflection Questions:

  1. How does Christ call us to be leaders in our daily lives?
  2. What are some qualities/virtues of a good Catholic Christian leader?
  3. How can we strengthen these qualities and virtues in ourselves?
  4. Fr. Gill explains how priests participate in the leadership of Christ in a particular way. What are some of these ways, and how have you seen this lived through priests in your life?
