Reflection on The Book of Job

The Book of Job is one of the most fascinating books of scripture as it addresses the problem of human suffering. As we wrestle with this question, we can study the Book of Job. We invite you to reflect on this book with Fr. Matthew Biedrzycki in this reflection video. Fr. Biedrzycki is the Parochial Vicar at the Cathedral Basilica Parish of Sts. Peter and Paul.

We invite you to prayerfully ponder these reflection questions:
  1. Ask the Lord to be present to you as you read the Book of Job. What strikes you from this story? Ask the Lord to speak to your heart.
  2. During times of great suffering, Job wrestles with questions and remains faithful to the Lord. He comes out of this suffering even more faithful and is able to see the Lord more clearly. What can Job teach us about suffering?
  3. Suffering has the power to unleash love. God can take an experience of suffering and make more good come out of it than if it had never happened at all. Ask the Lord to reveal to you how He unleashes love in an experience of suffering in your life.
